We all know that DEF or SCR has many disadvantages in the transport industry:  additional expense, de-reated engines, storage and handling logistics, the difficulty of procurement and other associated issues.  Repairing failed or fault AdBlue systems or NOx sensors can be very costly and very time consuming and frustrating.  These systems are on Euro 4, Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines and EPA equivalents.  With Euro 6 we now have EGR back as well!  BE AWARE OF THIS FACT!

We can supply or fit a small, simple electronic control unit to your truck that provides the owner with a tool to reduce UREA consumption or completely eliminate it.  The failed components that have caused your problem in the first place can then, in most cases, be sent to us for repairs and then be refitted if you want to do so.  This little unit will allow bypassing of failed AdBlue pumps and NOx sensors.  Some of our units allow removal of tanks, and some of our units allow fault clearing.

Running UREA/DEF/SCR has these disadvantages

The unit is fitted in the DEF/SCR system.  It provides the truck owner or operator with a tool to reduce Urea consumption or completely eliminate it.  However, we STRONGLY ADVISE that you maintain a minimum level of Urea in your tank at all times, and run it through the system regularly

Yes, the owner has complete choice to switch the unit on or off.

Yes, the original system remains in place and in working condition.  In most places it does mean your vehicle is not operating to the exhaust emission standards it was built to.  You will have to check your local regulations.  In some cases you can remove the whole or part of the system.

No, the unit does not interfere with the engine management system or computers, and is undetectable.

UREA/DEF/SCR is injected into the exhaust to react with NOx.  It plays no part in producing horsepower and torque or any other mechanical process in your engine.  There is also no reprogramming required of the engine computer.

No, once the unit is installed by a qualified automotive electrician and tested, there will be no further maintenance required.  The unit also comes with a 12 month warranty.  Please see our Terms and Advisory notes here.  If you sell your truck, we can arrange removal and refitting for a small fee.

A pleasant bonus is that the exhaust system is no longer subjected to a corrosive susbstance, (after all it is liquid Urea) so it will last longer.

If you are concerned about your original vehicle warranty we do suggest you check first.  However, we do not change or remove the original system, so warranty should not be an issue.
